Daniel McIntyre Ward isn’t just where I serve, it’s home.
I was raised here, went to school here, bought my home here, and raised my two daughters here. Today, my oldest daughter has purchased her first home in the ward, continuing our family’s deep roots in the community we love. I understand what matters because I have lived it.
It has been an honour to serve as your City Councillor. My commitment has always been simple: listen to residents, and stand up for our neighbourhoods.
Together, we’ve revitalized parks, playgrounds, tot lots, spray pads, community centres and recreation facilities. I’ve worked to create more welcoming neighbourhoods while protecting the spaces that bring our community together. I have invested in murals that celebrate local artists, beautify our neighbourhoods, reduce graffiti, and strengthen community pride.
I believe the strongest environmental solutions are built through community partnerships. I have proudly supported the community led Save the Elms Coalition and its tree inoculation efforts, worked alongside residents and volunteers to expand Butterfly Way pollinator gardens, and brought the Montreal Pledge for Biodiversity to the City of Winnipeg. These initiatives demonstrate what can be accomplished when communities, volunteers, and local government work together to protect our environment for future generations.I have also been a strong voice for protecting green spaces, including advocating for the preservation of Lemay Forest.
Keeping our neighbourhoods safe remains one of my highest priorities. I fought for more firefighters, stronger enforcement against derelict and neglected properties, and bylaws that keep encampments out of parks and playgrounds while advocating for managed encampments that provide housing, mental health, addiction treatment, sanitation, and outreach services. I have never shied away from the difficult conversations around homelessness, addictions, and mental health because real leadership means addressing complex issues with both compassion and accountability.
I have proudly supported the Wolseley Farmers’ Market, the Grocery Affordable Access Program, Community Gardens, strengthening food security while bringing neighbours together.
I am a strong and persistent voice for Daniel McIntyre Ward. I continue advocating for renewed investment in aging infrastructure, improved roads and active transportation,Transit, city services, traffic calming and the resources our growing community needs. I continue asking the tough questions, building partnerships, and fighting to ensure our ward receives the attention and investment it deserves.
Together, we’ve built momentum. Let’s keep building a city and community we are proud to call home.
